Patriarch II is a project of Phil and
Cameron Gray, to establish remote backup of data
utilising the geographically-distributed PC's of various
family members.
Private System
These notes are for the benefit of family users of the FTP
remote storage service, but may assist others set up their own data backup
system.
Services are not available to 3rd parties.
Project Goals
The project goals are to establish an
easy-to-use service, utilising an FTP Client, which will
support the remote backup of data from a local PC.
Security considerations are important, as evidenced by
the "Features" list.
When fully operational, backups may be run either
manually or scheduled, with synchronised updates of only those files that
have changed to ensure efficient use of bandwidth.
The use of Virtual File Systems (VFS) will allow users to
have their own unique logons and file directories, as well as the capability
to backup multiple PC's.
Please visit "About" for current project status and
technical notes.
